A documentary that features scenes from the Dr. Martin Luther King Soul Food Cook-off will be shown at the Circle Cinema Tuesday.
The cinema is located at 12 S. Lewis Ave. and the movie will start at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, said Stephanie LaFevers, executive director of the Circle Cinema Foundation.
Producer Byron Hurt explained that he was inspired to examine the influence of soul food after his father's death due to pancreatic cancer. High fat, high calorie foods can be one of the causes of that type of cancer.
The showing is part of the community cinema project. There will also be a panel discussion after the movie.
