There's a reason that the Eagles were the opening-night act for both Tulsa's BOK Center and the Ford Center in Oklahoma City: ...
'As I Lay Dying,' a film based on the William Faulkner novel and featuring James Franco and Tulsa native Tim Blake Nelson, ...
You asked for it, Tulsa, and the Admiral Twin Drive-in is delivering: On May 23, you can kick off the Memorial Day holiday ...
While the superb new "Star Trek" film is beaming up the box-office charts, it seems the appropriate time to announce that John Harper of Starbase 21 is again bringing science-fiction stars to Tulsa's Trek Expo, and Leonard Nimoy is this year's leading man.
"I think it was a timely thing to bring Leonard in again," Harper said, "and then there’s the fact that people always ask, 'When are you bringing Nimoy or Shatner back?' People see Leonard as one of the originals and as a favorite."
Another fact: Nimoy is the only actor from the original TV series to appear in the new film. For the 20th year of Trek Expo, Harper is pround to present performers from each of the "Star Trek" series for this year's event.
Nimoy leads a group on June 26-28 that also includes two "Star Trek: The Next Generation" favorites in Marina Sirtis ("Deanna Troi") and John DeLancie ("Q"), as well as the "Star Trek: Deep Space Nine" pairing of Avery Brooks ("Capt. Sisko") and Cirroc Lofton ("Jake," the captain’s son).
A battalion of performers from "Enterprise" and "Voyager" will also be there, as well as from "Stargate," "Battlestar Galactica" and many more TV shows and films.
Tickets range from general admission prices of $20 to attend one weekend day up to $425 for the gold standard: reserved front-row seats for all three days of Trek Expo; tickets to all special events, like "Supper With the Stars" (a charity dinner for Tulsa Boys Home) and a Saturday evening cabaret performance; and autographs from Nimoy, Brooks, Sirtis and more.
Tickets may be purchased at Starbase 21 or online at the Trek Expo Web site, where you can find enough information about the events to fill a starship.
