"The Feel Bad Movie of Christmas." That's the trippy tagline in the first trailer for the U.S. version of "The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo," based on the thriller trilogy by Stieg Larsson.
Perhaps even trippier: the song playing throughout the trailer, a cover of Led Zeppelin's "Immigrant's Song" by Karen O of the Yeah Yeah Yeahs.
It has very legitimately been questioned why this English-language remake is coming out so soon after the hit Swedish-language films.
Just know that the director is David Fincher, who has proven with pictures like "The Social Network" and "The Curious Case of Benjamin Button" the ability to tell any story in a compelling way, even those we are very familiar with, like "Zodiac."
Check out the trailer, which moves fast and still leaves us wondering what Rooney Mara will really look like in the lead role.
