This trailer may focus on the two lead stars, but Christoph Waltz is the reason to see "Water for Elephants," the Depression-era circus melodrama and romance.
There are two superb performances in the film. One comes from Waltz, with a bipolar role that lets him do some of the kind of work that won him an Oscar for Col. Hans Landa in "Inglourious Basterds."
The other standout is Rosie the elephant, graceful and funny and an animal lover's delight. Robert Pattinson and Reese Witherspoon? Not so much.
