Oklahoma psychedelic rocker The Flaming Lips will perform what many consider the band's magnum opus during its New Year's Eve show this year in Oklahoma City.

The group will perform its 1999 studio album, "The Soft Bulletin" in full at the Cox Convention Center in Oklahoma City. Tickets will go on sale soon. For more details, visit the band's official website at theflaminglips.com.

Said the band this morning via its official Twitter feed: "Just so you guys know, we are going to perform The Soft Bulletin on New Years Eve in OKC! Tickets will go on sale very soon."

Read more from the Lips via Twitter, here.

In 2003, the album ranked No. 3 on Pitchfork's roundup of the top albums of the 1990s. It is one of the most critically acclaimed albums of the band's career -- and quite possibly in the last 20 years as a whole -- yet it never broke into the Billboard Top 200 chart when it was released more than a decade ago.

PLUS! Here are the album tracks, in various forms and mixes. Follow me at Blip, blip.fm/BarrelhouseBeat.
