Alana Thompson, Honey Boo Boo (TLC)
If a dollar makes Alana "
Honey Boo Boo" Thompson and her family want to holler, imagine what $40,000 can do.
Or don't.
Spread that over the 10-episode season of TLC's "Here Comes Honey Boo Boo" for the family of six, and it's not much.
According to
The Hollywood Reporter, the Thompson family makes $2,000 - $4,000 per episode, which is pretty shocking...that the family could potentially make less than the less they are already getting for the arguably crass reality show that's drawn in a few million viewers.
Alana's mother June Shannon, later told celebrity news site TMZ that THR's claims were laughable. Not getting into specifics, Shannon said the family makes far more than $2,000 - $4,000 per episode.
Honestly, does it really matter
how much the Thompson family is making to go through with a show that is easily exploitative?
Miss Alana may not know the full value and power of money yet, but here's an unfortunate takeaway the 7-year-old, a blameless party in this venture is learning right now: There are people in this world who will allow you to sell yourself out at whatever cost you'll allow them.
