"The Tree of Life" arrives on DVD Oct. 11.

Did you get the chance to watch Terrence Malick's "The Tree of Life," this summer?

I'm still kicking myself for missing this year's winner of the Cannes Film Festival's Palme d'Or. But the much-discussed film is heading to DVD soon -- and along with it what could be a rare look into the process of the mysterious director with Bartlesville ties.

According to Entertainment Weekly, the DVD will contain a "making-of documentary" but it won't include any interviews with the director.

Instead, it will reportedly feature interviews from his actors, including Brad Pitt and Jessica Chastain, along with his crew and interesting admirers, including directors Christopher Nolan and David Fincher.

I love watching "making-of" docs on DVD after seeing a good movie. In fact, I recently watched the terrific film about the making of "The Social Network."

That documentary felt like a film-making class. I wonder what goodies insiders will offer about Malick. The more reserved a person, the more interesting his legend becomes, right?

Malick brought a large cast of movie stars with him to the Bartlesville area recently, as he filmed his latest, still-untitled project.

Do you have any good movie star -- or better yet, Malick -- sightings or stories to share?
