AMC Southroads 20 returns with its series of classic films next month, many of which might qualify with some as "modern classics."
The successful series that ran in fall 2008 and this spring brought back original prints of movie favorites for one-week runs on the big-screen. Films have included “E.T.,” “Rebel Without a Cause” and “The Wizard of Oz” (still the series’ most-attended film).
There is one slot prior to Christmas yet to be filled, and a couple of dates still need firming up. Look for a complete list and what week they will run in a story next month.
The titles (subject to change) include:
September: Jurassic Park, Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, Top Gun, Jaws
October: The Birds, Grease, John Carpenter’s The Thing, American Graffiti, Bram Stoker’s Dracula
November: To Kill a Mockingbird, Pulp Fiction, The Godfather, 12 Angry Men
December: White Christmas
