ZooThe Tulsa Zoo is offering what it calls “Back to Cool” prices. From Aug. 10-19, admission to the zoo will be $4. Enjoy all the animal exhibits for this low price, and be sure to stop by to see the newest jaguar cubs.
“The Big Chill” also continues at the zoo. Every Friday, Saturday and Sunday, kids can enjoy the zoo’s inflatable water slides all day for $5.
Summer zoo hours are 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily.
Kidtastic GymnasticsThe August Kids Club event, presented by Airborne Athletics, is Kidtastic Gymnastics. The event will be at lower level center court at Tulsa Promenade Mall from 1 to 2:30 p.m. Saturday. Kids of all ages will have the opportunity to practice simple gymnastic moves, play games and listen to music.
Tread4TraffickingTread4Trafficking, set for Saturday, is a family-friendly 5k walk/run to support the A21 Campaign, a non-profit organization that fights human trafficking globally. A 1-mile fun run will begin at 7 p.m. and the timed 5k begins at 7:30 p.m. near the Amphitheatre at the River West Festival Park, 2100 S. Jackson. Registration is $25 for the fun run and $30 for the 5k. Race day registration begins at 4 p.m.
Runners are encouraged to dress up as their favorite Justice League character. Music will be part of the event, and snacks and snow cones will be available for purchase.

Elizabeth SmartAbduction survivor Elizabeth Smart will speak about her experience at the University of Tulsa’s Reynolds Center, 11th Street and Harvard Avenue, at 7 p.m. Friday.
Smart was abducted from her Utah home 10 years ago at the age of 14 and was held captive before she was rescued nine month later. She is now an activist for missing and abused children.
General admission is $25. Tickets for a VIP reception at 6 p.m. are $150, and only 100 are available.
