This weekend, the Chili Bowl continues, kids can spend the night at the aquarium and professional fighters compete.

Chili Bowl
The 27th annual Lucas Oil Chili Bowl Nationals continues at Expo Square, 4145 E. 21st St., through Saturday.
Qualifying races begin at 6 p.m. Thursday and Friday, and the championship event will begin at noon Saturday.

A free trade show is also open to the public. A variety of racing products and apparel will be available through more than 100 vendors.

Sleep with the sharks
Kids ages 5 and older, accompanied by an adult, can spend the night at the Oklahoma Aquarium on Friday.
The fun starts at 7 p.m. and includes a light snack and drinks; a dive show, scavenger hunt and flashlight tour; a movie; and breakfast on Saturday. The event ends at 8 a.m. Saturday.
Bring a pillow, sleeping bag or air mattress, toothbrush and toothpaste, and any other necessary toiletries.
Cost is $35-$45 per person. The deadline to register is 3 p.m. today. Call 918-528-1507 or 918-528-1532. The aquarium is at 300 Aquarium Drive in Jenks.

Home improvement workshops
The Home Depot and Lowe’s are offering some workshops this weekend. Among them are the kitchen design workshops at Home Depot locations, from 1 to 2:30 p.m. Saturday. Learn several skills, including how to prepare cabinet surfaces and refinish them, and how to install new lighting. Visit tulsaworld.com/homedepotworkshops.
And Lowe’s locations will be offering a “Mystery Kit” kids clinic at 10 a.m. Saturday that allows children to build a mystery project. Visit tulsaworld.com/loweskids to register.

Mixed martial arts
Professional fighters are coming to the SpiritBank Event Center, 10441 S. Regal Blvd., for Combat!! MMA, the new Tulsa mixed martial arts event. The event is set for 7 p.m. Saturday.
Featured fighters on the fight card will include Andrew “The Sniper” Todhunter, an Army sniper, combat veteran and Purple Heart-recipient. Todhunter will be fighting for his third title in the 5five-round main event.
Other fighters will include James “Whitey” Warren, Mark “The Honey Badger” Barrett, Chris “Pritty Boy” Barnes and “The Juggernaut” Josh Fisher.

PechaKucha
Living Arts of Tulsa, 307 E. Brady St., was chosen to be the Tulsa representative for the global PechaKucha phenomenon, a format devised in Tokyo as an event for young creative people to meet, network and show their work in public.
Ten creative individuals from different walks of life will be at Living Arts at 7 p.m. Saturday to share their experiences. Participants include Tulsa Library CEO Gary Shaffer, trapeze artist and circus camp director Anton VonOstendorf, YWCA director Mana Tahaie and printmaker and artist May Yang.
Admission is $5-$10.
