Jazz The Tulsa Historical Society, 2445 S. Peoria Ave., is focusing on Oklahoma jazz this month during its Thursday night lecture series. At 6:30 p.m. today, the second lecture in the “Jazz on a Spring Evening” series will be about Oklahoma-born jazz icon Chet Baker. The lecture is free with museum admission, which is $5 for adults and $3 for seniors.

For the runnersDress for Success Tulsa’s second annual Stiletto Sprint & 5K Power Walk
Run will be held Saturday in front of the University of Tulsa’s Lorton Performance Center at Eighth Street and Harvard Avenue. Registration begins at 3 p.m., with the sprint at 4 p.m. and the 5k at 5 p.m. Entry fees are $20 for the sprint, $25 for the power walk/run, $35 for both, and $10 for kids 12 and younger. Also scheduled for Saturday is the sixth annual Ready, Set, Run, a 5k and fun run benefiting the Autism Center of Tulsa. ‘An American Celebration’The Tulsa Praise Orchestra is putting on a big-band musical in celebration of the nation’s veterans in honor of Armed Forces Day.
