We’re not talking simply about the heat, although that’s definitely a problem. Rather, we refer to the fact that there are three – count ‘em, three – murder mystery shows happening in and around Tulsa.

The Ultimate Murder Mystery is presenting its “Trailer-Trash Karaoke Death Match” 7 p.m. Saturday at Molly’s Landing, 3700 Highway 66 in Catoosa. That show, however, sold out.

The annual Harwelden Murder Mystery also has sold out its Saturday evening performance of “Die-Nasty: In Our Last Episode,” although seats are still available for this weekend’s other performances, 7 p.m. Thursday and Friday, with a 2 p.m. Sunday matinee at Harwelden, 2210 S. Main St.

The production – which, in the interest of full disclosure, we must confess to writing its script – will also be presented Aug. 11-13. Price is $45 per person, which includes dinner with wine and beer, and the chance to help support the Arts and Humanities Council of Tulsa and its many programs.

For reservations, call 918-584-3333, ext. 11.

Sapulpa Community Theatre is indulging in a little fictional felonious fund-raising of its own, with its production of “Much Ado About Murder,” by Pat Cook.

The play will be performed at the La Margarita Mexican Restaurant, 1215 New Sapulpa Road, with shows beginning at 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday, 2 p.m. Sunday. More shows are scheduled for Aug. 12-14.

Tickets are $20, and include a buffet dinner that will be served one hour prior to show time. For reservations, call 918-227-2169.
