Kristin Chenoweth, "rabid" Thunder fan and former star of ABC's "GCB," comes home to Broken Arrow for a sold-out concert in June. KAREN NEAL/ABC

Fans all over Oklahoma and one in particular in Boston were on the edges of their seats Wednesday as the Oklahoma City Thunder defeated the San Antonio Spurs 107-99 to win the Western Conference title. That fan in Boston is Broken Arrow native and "rabid" Thunder fan Kristin Chenoweth who will be performing at the Opera House there tonight.

"Is the Pope Catholic?" the award-winning actress and entertainer replied when asked by Boston Herald reporter Megan Johnson about her team allegiance.

"I'm completely obsessed and we're going to win it all this year," said Chenoweth, who most recently starred in "GCB" on ABC.

She also said the success of the Oklahoma City Thunder has provided more than excitement for Oklahoma, according to the story.

"We've had college ball but we haven't had a pro team," said the Broadway star who has performed at Thunder games and appeared in commercials for the team. "The fact we have one, I'm damn well going to root for them. It's done a lot for the city; financially it's helped our state. All those are good things. People say, 'Don't tell Boston you're a Thunder fan.' Well, I'm a huge Thunder fan, and I want them to take it all.

"…I love the game, I love the players," she said. "I'm really proud of Durant and (Russell) Westbrook and (James) Harden; all of our players are incredible ... it would be cool for the Celtics and Thunder to play!"

And they might. The Thunder is set to face off against either the Boston Celtics or the Miami Heat in the 2012 NBA Finals starting at 8 p.m. Tuesday on ABC, channel 8, live from Oklahoma City.

In other Chenoweth news: She will be back in Oklahoma to perform in a sold-out concert June 24 at the Broken Arrow Performing Arts Center.

Also, fans of her series "GCB" series have mounted a campaign to get ABC network to reconsider its cancellation, including gathering more than 65,000 signatures on a petition and sending Bibles to network executives.
