Oklahoma City Thunder star Kevin Durant broke ground recently on his new restaurant, KD's, in Oklahoma City's Lower Bricktown.
The restaurant, scheduled to open early fall 2013. will feature upscale Southern cuisine and some of Durant's favorite dishes, according to a news release.
The menu will include such items as chicken satay, popcorn lobster, honey-dipped fried chicken, center cut pork chops, blackened catfish, slow-smoked barbecue ribs, chicken and shrimp jambalaya, as well as a variety of steaks, seafood and desserts.
KD's also will feature a lengthy wine list and specialty drink menu.
The restaurant is being developed by Hal Smith Restaurant Group and Oklahoma City developer Randy Hogan in partnership with K. Durant Restaurant Group.
The Hal Smith Restaurant Group also operates Charleston's, Mahogany Prime Steakhouse and Redrock Canyon Grill, among others.
