Former Oklahoma State basketball player Tony Allen, now with the NBA's Memphis Grizzlies, will return to Stillwater this month to conduct a skills camp for kids.
The Grit and Grind Basketball Skills Academy will be July 18-20 at Gallagher-Iba Arena. Kids ages 10-17 can attend, and the cost is $150.
Click here for more details or to register.Allen started the camp last year in Memphis before extending it to Chicago and Stillwater this year, according to his website.
While playing for the Cowboys in 2002-04, Allen became the first player in program history to score 1,000 career points in two seasons. He spent six seasons with the Boston Celtics and has been with the Grizzlies for the past two years.
Last season, Allen started every game but one for Memphis, averaging 9.8 points and four rebounds. In the annual survey of NBA general managers, he was named the best perimeter defender.
