Anyone remember how they did the marketing for The Dark Knight? It was centered around Harvey Dent's campaign, with websites, billboards and stickers touting "I believe in Harvey Dent". Then, as the release date of the movie drew near, the billboards began to look more and more vandalized, and the website was "hacked" and all of the campaign materials took on a more joker-esque appearance. All done purposefully, of course, and it worked well.

X-Men: Days of Future Past is doing something like that with the creation of the Trask Industries website, based on the company responsible for the giant, mechanical Sentinels we see in the comics and cartoons. The site is small but appealing, with plenty of neat tidbits to be gathered, offering perhaps a clue or two about the plot specifics of the movie.
The thing I love the most about it is the wholesome feel it has, with the idea that this company is created with the seemingly good intentions of "preserving humanity through technology", but for those of familiar with the story, we know what's coming.
The images in the media section are somewhere between the Dark Knight campaign and the artwork you'd see in the Portal 2 video game, which featured similar propaganda posters devoted to the ideals of a similar company called Aperture Science. Playing Portal 2 allows you to walk the halls and chambers as it goes through the decades, reliving it's past in all of it's glory. A lot of fun, it is.
No word yet on whether or not we'll see this site defaced
a la Dark Knight, but we'll keep an eye on it. See it for yourself at
