Jenks multi-sport athlete Derek Brumble will bypass his senior football season to focus on baseball, his father, Brian Brumble, said in an email to the Tulsa World.
Brumble competed for the Trojans starting job at quarterback last August and saw limited action at quarterback and running back during the 2011 season.
A two-year starter on the baseball team, he received second-team honors on the Tulsa World All-Metro team as a junior after batting .396 with four homers and 30 RBIs.
Brumble started in the outfield as a sophomore and at third base as a junior, helping the Trojans to back-to-back appearances in the Class 6A state tournament.
