“Are we there yet?” is more than the title of the show Tulsa Repertory Musicals will be performing this weekend.
It also sums up the feeling of director Dan Call in getting this production on to the stage.
“We had planned to do this in February, but like everyone else, the blizzard put an end to that idea real quick,” Call said, laughing. “And you would think that, with a cast of four people, it would be easy to find another weekend when we could get together to do the show.”
However, it’s not just any four people who make up the cast of “Are We There Yet?”, a musical in which the cast portrays an ever-shifting array of characters that trace — in a very funny and tuneful way — the journey from the crib to the nursing home.
“We’ve used the same four people for this show every time we’ve done it, because they have such a great chemistry together,” Call said. “However, one of them, Randy Chronister, is now living in Dallas, so it takes some doing to get everyone together.
“But they work so well together that it just takes a couple of rehearsals to get the show into shape,” he said. “It makes my job a lot easier.”
In addition to Chronister, “Are We There Yet?” stars Cathy Rose Mike Pryor and Heather Richetto-Rumley.
Performances are at 7:30 p.m. Friday, 2 and 7:30 p.m. Saturday at the Tulsa Little Theatre, 1511 S. Delaware Ave.
Tickets are $24. Call 918-744-7340 or online at tulsaworld.com/trm.
