When it was released last month, Tulsan Ben Rector’s new studio album, “Something Like This” shot to No. 1 on iTunes’ singer-songwriter album downloads and debuted at No. 41 on the Billboard Top 200. He’s taking his independently released album on tour, too.

His national tour rolls through Cain’s Ballroom on Oct. 25. Tickets are $9, plus fees, available at available at all Reasor’s grocery stores, Starship Records and Ida Red. Charge by phone at 918-584-2306 or buy online at tulsaworld.com/cains.

Showtime is 8 p.m. and the concert is all ages.

Along with early praise from ABC Music Lounge, Billboard, iTunes and others, Amazon will spotlight Rector in its “Artist On The Rise” program through October and November.

So who is Ben Rector? “A lot of people have been asking that question,” Rector said in a press statement. “I’m pretty much a nobody; just a guy who plays pop music. There is no funny business here, no gimmicks. Even in the cycle for my last album, there was no enormous break, huge tour or epic TV placement. I just try to put enough craft into my music so it’s something that people want to listen to and share ... for me it’s all about the song.”

Rector, a Tulsa native, has relocated to Tennessee. Rector’s last record “Into the Morning,” debuted at No. 5 on the iTunes pop chart, No. 10 on the overall chart, and No. 11 on Billboard’s Heatseekers.
