Christina Oliver will compete on the karaoke showdown series "
The Singing Bee," 7 p.m. Friday on
Country Music Television.
After winning a regional contest in Dallas, she traveled to Hollywood back in March to film the show, which debuts Friday as part of the show's new season on cable channel CMT, she said.
She competes with everyday people from across the country, including Indiana, Georgia, Texas and Tennessee.
According to the show's official website, contestants don't have to sing the country songs well, they just have to sing them right. The winner goes on to compete for a grand prize of $10,000.
The one-hour show is hosted by
Melissa Peterman.
