The Tulsa weather milestone updates involve a lot of "NO" this week.
Statewide, there are no burn bans. Locally, there have been no more Ozone Alerts.
And now, for some more NOs:
No 100s in Tulsa since July 23
As noted in the blog title, our last 100s in Tulsa gets farther away, but Tulsa temperatures are getting closer to the 100s at the same time.
Thursday's high was 98. Will Friday finally be the day Tulsa inevitably hits triple digits again?
No official Tulsa rainfall since Aug. 16
Yes, I was downtown when Tulsa got rained on during my lunch break last week Friday. However, Tulas's official rainfall statistics are taken by the National Weather Service's site at the Tulsa International Airport.
That site has not recorded any rainfall, not even trace amounts, since Aug. 16.
However, the Oklahoma Mesonet site at TCC's northeast campus and my rolled down car windows both confirmed last Friday's afternoon rainfall in Tulsa.
10-straight days of 90s in Tulsa
Unless something unexpected happens (like last Friday's isolated showers), expect Friday to be Tulsa's 11th-straight day in the 90s.
Before this streak, Tulsa had 8 days in a row of just 80s.
Our chances of rain increase to 30 percent on Sunday, so stay tuned on that front at
tulsaworld.com/weather.
Stay cool, wear sunscreen, and carry an umbrella with you, just in case isolated showers appear out of nowhere, even if the weather service doesn't have a record of it.
