UPDATE: I omitted two situations at area schools:

-- Bob Banfield has left Sand Springs after five seasons to become coach at Mannford, where his son Mike is coach of the boys team.

-- As reported last week, Owasso coach Krista Ragan-Binam is one of the candidates for an assistant position at Oral Roberts, where as a player a decade ago she helped turn the program around.

Here's an update on some of the coaching moves in area girls basketball:

-- Former Verdigris boys coach Kelly Clarke was approved in a board meeting Monday night to become the new girls coach at Collinsville. Arlin Stacy recently resigned from the position to become principal at a Collinsville elementary school.

-- After nine seasons and three state championships at Tahlequah Sequoyah, Bill Nobles resigned to become head coach at Porter and was approved Monday afternoon.

-- As reported by the Tulsa World last week, Mandy Nightingale is leaving Coweta to become head coach at Jenks. The hire also was approved Monday.

-- Also reported last week, Damon Guthery was promoted from interim coach to head coach at Central.

So that leaves openings at Tahlequah Sequoyah and Coweta as well as Claremore after longtime coach Mark Campbell was dismissed last month. If I'm forgetting any other hires or dismissals, please let me know.
