Oklahoma has four quality senior running backs – Brennan Clay, Damien Williams, Roy Finch and Trey Millard.

OU fans received a peek at the Sooners’ future at the position during a 51-20 victory over Tulsa on Saturday afternoon.

Keith Ford raised some eyebrows in the “Oklahoma Drill” during fall camp. A video of Ford barreling over Jordan Phillips drew raves from fans.

Ford received his most extensive work on Saturday. The true freshman carried seven times for 46 yards, including a career-high 23-yard run where he ran over Tulsa defenders. He also had his first career touchdown, a 3-yard run in the fourth quarter.

“Keith Ford came in and was a wrecking ball,” Bob Stoops said.

Stoops later added, “Keith Ford is really a young talented back. He’s physical and an incredibly strong, talented guy with speed. Every time he’s out there, he demonstrates it. He really ran hard and strong today.”
