Wagoner senior cornerback-tailback-receiver Kevin Peterson plans to take his official visit to the University of Oklahoma this weekend. He was offered a scholarship by the Sooners last weekend.

Peterson said on Wednesday he also has been offered by Tulsa, Arizona, Iowa State and Oregon State. He visited Tulsa last weekend.

Peterson was visited by OU associate head coach/defensive coordinator Brent Venables on Tuesday.

Peterson is playing basketball for the first time since his sophomore season. On Tuesday, he had a team-high 13 points, seven rebounds, four steals and two blocks in a 57-46 win over Jay...

Pittsburg State, which is playing for the NCAA Division II championship against Wayne State on Saturday, has 16 players who graduated from Oklahoma high schools. Many of those players are from the Tulsa area, including three starters: left tackle Nick Pugh (Nowata), left guard Kell Smalley (Bishop Kelley) and cornerback Aries Herrion (B.T. Washington).

Other state players on Pitt State's roster include Glenpool's Israel Maselera, B.T. Washington's Chris Mitchell, Lincoln Christian's Joe Uzzel and Grant Towry, Sand Springs' Matt Anderson and Tyler Smith, Skiatook's Josiah Cody, Collinsville's Chance Riley, Owasso's Joe Lindsey, East Central's Dino Teague, Oologah's Jake Taylor, Midwest City's John White and Grove's Bobby Harris.
