As an OSU grad, it hurt to see the news about Justin Blackmon. Maybe the Jaguars will put in place similar restrictions the ...
A couple thoughts with fantasy drafts just four months away.
Is Eddie Lacy the only back worth a pick?
Absolutely ...
No one thought Adrian Peterson was going to be 100 percent, much less get 9 yards away from breaking Eric Dickerson’s single ...
Some people play in fantasy leagues where the rules never change.
For some reason, I can't ever get in any of those. Each offseason the discussion starts about rules that need to be changed and the kitty always gets a little bigger.
Here are some rules I have found to be interesting or popular that you and your league might consider:
Go beyond the flex player.
Instead of requiring you to start two running backs and three wide receivers/tight ends and a flex, offer some variations:
3 RB
2 WR
1 TE
1 RB
5 WR
I could see how this could help if your draft left you with strong receivers rather than running backs and also if you have a lot of injuries to your running back (better than picking up someone off the waive wire).
Eliminate the kicker.
You only need to have an opposing kicker go 6 for 6 once to feel like this is a good idea. I have seen boss teams killed by a kicker in a rout. You know my rule. Never draft a kicker until the last round. If he's only worth a last round pick, why bother?
I would much rather have another position player to have another option and also to make trading a lot more fun.
You have to draft rookies and start one a week.
This would not just boost the value of Trent Richardson, but it would also make your lineup a little more varied. Sure, this might also give you two QBs to start each week, but do you want the middle rounds of your draft to be so predictable?
In other news ...
Dez Bryant is arrested for assault of his mother. His license plate? BAIL ME. Let me go ahead and say avoid at all costs. ... Seattle RB Marshawn Lynch was arrested for DUI. Getting weak on him as well. Titans WR Kenny Britt had another knee surgery, making that two since last season. Looks like he isn't going to be ready for the season.
