Most entertainment during December is Christmas-related, but not all. One great option is "Seussical," which has several showtimes this week and next.

Monday: Jingle Bell Puppet TheaterPuppet theater is fun for kids of all ages, and this special holiday edition should draw a crowd to Central Library. If you can't make the afternoon show, bundle up and come back after dinnertime.

Tuesday: Appassionata Duo Candlelight ConcertA concert on a Tuesday night is a small indulgence, but a concert in candlelight on a weeknight is a luxury. This one is by a Tulsa viola and harp duo at Harwelden, with wine, cheese and dessert following the show.

Wednesday: Pop-Up Shops in the Deco DistrictMaybe you can't get away during the work day to shop at the temporary shops downtown. Wednesday nights are a great time to go, with shopping hours extended to 8 p.m. These pop-up shops, in the Thompson and Philcade buildings near Boston Avenue and Fifth Street, will be downtown for the holiday season. The shops feature everything from handmade home decor to food and books. Santa and carolers will be part of the evening.
When: 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday. Noon to 8 p.m. Saturday. On Wednesdays, shops are open 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Thursday: "Seussical"The Christmas season is great, but sometimes you need a break from the fa-la-la. "Seussical," while it does feature the Grinch (yes, the one who stole Christmas), is a fun show and a nice alternative to the holiday shows of December.

Woolaroc's Wonderland of Lights is a fun way to spend an evening leading up to Christmas. A concession has cookies and hot chocolate, and you can stroll both inside the buildings and on the museum's grounds.
