In this Feb. 13 file photo, a duck walks in Tulsa's 1.2 inches of snow. Hours later, the snow melted and Tulsa hasn't seen snow since (as of March 8). CORY YOUNG/Tulsa World File
Just abbreviate "Tulsa temperatures" as "Tulsa temps," because there is nothing more temporary than Tulsa temperatures, it seems.
After four straight days reaching the 70s, as of 3 p.m., the low temperature is now 38 degrees today.
Here are the biggest 24-hour temperature changes each month for the past year in Tulsa that I could find, either from the highest high to the lowest low one day to the next, or vise versa:
February 2012: 35 degrees (low, Feb. 21) to 75 degrees (high, Feb. 22)
January 2012: 18 degrees (low, Jan. 18) to 71 degrees (high, Jan. 19)
December 2011: 18 degrees (low, Dec. 7) to 50 degrees (high, Dec. 8)
November 2011: 70 degrees (high, Nov. 15) to 31 degrees (low, Nov. 16)
October 2011: 46 degrees (low, Oct. 15) to 91 degrees (high, Oct. 16)
September 2011: 57 degrees (low, Sept. 12) to 101 degrees (high, Sept. 13)
August 2011: 62 degrees (low, Aug. 26) to 98 degrees (high, Aug. 27)
July 2011: 107 degrees (high, July 24), to 74 degrees (low, July 25)
June 2011: 106 degrees (high, June 27) to 72 degrees (low, June 28)
May 2011: 45 degrees (low, May 4) to 77 degrees (high, May 5)
April 2011: 88 degrees (high, April 3) to 37 degrees (low, April 4)
March 2011: 42 degrees (low, March 16) to 83 degrees (high, March 17)
In multiple cases, the huge temperature swing was accompanied by high winds or precipitation.
Further proof that if you don't like the Oklahoma weather, wait a few minutes.
And if you really like the weather, don't get too comfy.
