Adele may be on a quasi-hiatus since the announcement of her pregnancy back in June, but some things are just too ... sexy ... to pass up.
The English singer is heavily rumored to be the next artist to record the 007 theme song for "
Skyfall," reports BBC online.
Adele dropped a hint, too: "I'm going back in the studio in November, fingers crossed," the "Rolling in the Deep" singer recently told British talk show host Jonathan Ross. "Well this is actually a theme, what I've got to do for, um… Wow. That's really giving something away isn't it?"
The Bond film is scheduled for release in late October.
As a side note, more than 70 cover versions exist of James Bond themes, by artists including Count Basie, John Barry, Moby, Cannibal Corpse, The Ventures, The Art of Noise and more.
If Adele isn't chosen, it wouldn't be the first time the press got it wrong, either. Just sayin'. In 2008, Amy Winehouse and Mark Ronson were "pre-pegged" for "Quantum of Solace." It turned out to be Alicia Keys and Jack White.
