William Petersen is coming back to television and this time he won't be so nice.

The former "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation" star will take the lead and executive produce an hour-long crime drama titled "Hurt People," according to hollywoodreporter.com.

The series centers around a hitman who is hired for the crime family that killed his wife to hunt down his estranged daughter who is bent on destroying those responsible for her mother's death.

"Hurt People" marks Petersen's first acting role since his departure from the CBS hit "CSI" two years ago. He stars in the theatrical film "Detachment" opposite Adrien Brody.

The new series is being pitched to cable channels, reported the website.
