Tyler Mirt, a certified sommelier, will conduct a "Wine 101" class beginning at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at LXI, 5982 S. Yale Ave., in KingsPointe Village shopping center.
This course is designed for beginners. Mirt will cover sight, smell and taste, and how to decide why you like certain types of wines. Cost is $35 per person. Appropriate food items will be served with the wines, which is an education in itself.
For reservations, call 340-5240, or e-mail to tmirt@dnovoleangourmet.com.
Mirt is a good guy and knows his stuff, so this should be a good class for novice wine drinkers.
