You figured this might be a big week for Oklahoma well before the season ever began.

Last July cornerback Aaron Colvin mentioned the "sting" from last year's loss to Notre Dame, and how much he looked forward to another crack at the Irish.

In August, someone asked running back Brennan Clay what games jumped out on the Sooners' schedule. He didn't say much about Texas or Oklahoma State, but did inform that "Notre Dame and K-State are going to be starred."

Fast forward, then, to Tuesday evening. The Sooners piped in "Wake Up the Echoes" throughout practice. And while it's routine for them to play the opposing team's fight song to help prep for road games, you couldn't help but notice something center Gabe Ikard said after practice concluded:

"Today was probably our toughest practice of the season."

So much for OU's bye week. The Irish are dead ahead.
