Children and parents are invited to celebrate 75th anniversary of "The Wizard of Oz" this Saturday during a special event at Woodland Hills Mall.

The event arrives just ahead of a special 3-D IMAX giant-screen showing of the Hollywood classic beginning Sept. 20 at AMC Southroads 20 for one week. The movie is released on Blu-ray DVD on Oct. 1.

A number of "Wizard of Oz"-inspired activities are planned for the mall event from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday on the lower level of Woodland Hills near Dillard's.

Families can discover the "Emerald City" and the "Yellow Brick Road" at the event: Attendees will receive a map leading to various stations that feature viewings of "The Wizard of Oz" film clips; craft-making and coloring activities; cut-out character photo opportunities; and exclusive movie-focused giveaways.

In addition, those children who attend the event in costume will receive a complimentary Rubie's Red Trick-or-Treat pail -- while supplies last.

Take a peek at the trailer for the 75th anniversary release in 3-D IMAX, arriving next week on Sept. 20.
