This week's AP Top 25 men's college basketball poll was released Monday. Here it is:
1. Duke 16-1
2. Michigan 17-1
3. Kansas 16-1
3. Syracuse 17-1
5. Louisville 16-2
6. Arizona 16-1
7. Indiana 16-2
8. Florida 14-2
9. Butler 16-2
10. Gonzaga 17-2
11. Kansas State 15-2
12. Minnesota 15-3
13. Michigan State 16-3
14. Ohio State 13-4
15. New Mexico 16-2
16. Oregon 16-2
17. Creighton 17-2
18. N.C. State 15-3
19. VCU 16-3
20. Wichita State 17-2
21. Cincinnati 16-3
22. Missouri 13-4
23. Ole Miss 15-2
24. Notre Dame 15-3
25. Miami 13-3
Others receiving votes: Marquette 92, Wisconsin 55, UCLA 41, UNLV 32, Wyoming 28, San Diego State 26, Colorado State 7, Memphis 6, Georgetown 4, Iowa State 3, North Carolina 3, Louisiana Tech 2, Pittsburgh 1, Bucknell 1
And here's how I voted:
1. Duke
2. Kansas
3. Michigan
4. Syracuse
5. Louisville
6. Arizona
7. Indiana
8. Florida
9. Butler
10. Minnesota
11. Gonzaga
12. Kansas State
13. Michigan State
14. Ohio State
15. Creighton
16. New Mexico
17. N.C. State
18. Oregon
19. VCU
20. Missouri
21. Cincinnati
22. Wichita State
23. Ole Miss
24. Notre Dame
25. Miami
San Diego State, Illinois, UCLA and Marquette were dropped from the rankings, while Wichita State, Cincinnati, Ole Miss and Miami popped in.
For the first time this season, the 25 teams for which I voted wound up being the 25 teams that are ranked. It was a pretty straight-forward week despite nearly half the previous week's ranked teams losing. Teams ranked 23rd-25th went down, plus four of those that received votes last week.
The trickiest situation this week was what to do with Wisconsin. The Badgers won at second-ranked Indiana, but then lost at Iowa. But here's what Wisconsin has next: home against No. 13 Michigan State on Tuesday, home against No. 12 Minnesota on Saturday, at No. 14 Ohio State next Tuesday. The Big Ten is ridiculous this year.
Other games to watch out for this week:
No. 3 Kansas at No. 11 Kansas State, 7 p.m. Tuesday
No. 1 Duke at No. 25 Miami, 6 p.m. Wednesday
No. 13 Michigan State at No. 7 Indiana, noon Sunday
