AP Top 25: How I voted
Published: 2/5/2013 12:36 AM
Last Modified: 2/5/2013 12:36 AM

This week's AP Top 25 was released Monday:

1. Indiana 20-2
2. Florida 18-2
3. Michigan 20-2
4. Duke 19-2
5. Kansas 19-2
6. Gonzaga 21-2
7. Arizona 19-2
8. Miami 17-3
9. Syracuse 18-3
10. Ohio State 17-4
11. Louisville 18-4
12. Michigan State 18-4
13. Kansas State 17-4
14. Butler 18-4
15. New Mexico 19-3
16. Creighton 20-3
17. Cincinnati 18-4
18. Minnesota 17-5
19. Oregon 18-4
20. Georgetown 16-4
21. Missouri 16-5
22. Oklahoma State 15-5
23. Pittsburgh 18-5
24. Marquette 15-5
25. Notre Dame 18-4

And here's how I voted:

1. Indiana
2. Michigan
3. Florida
4. Duke
5. Gonzaga
6. Arizona
7. Kansas
8. Ohio State
9. Louisville
10. Syracuse
11. Michigan State
12. Miami
13. Butler
14. Kansas State
15. New Mexico
16. Creighton
17. Minnesota
18. Cincinnati
19. Missouri
20. Georgetown
21. Notre Dame
22. Oklahoma State
23. Pittsburgh
24. Oregon
25. Louisiana Tech

Dropped from the rankings were Wichita State (15), Ole Miss (16), N.C. State (19) and San Diego State (22).

Four teams in last week's poll lost twice, and only one survived to remain in: No. 19 Oregon. I voted the Ducks lower and almost left them out entirely.

OSU popped back in after several weeks out. The Cowboys are back on the national radar and rightly so after upsetting No. 2 Kansas in Lawrence. With more winnable games coming up, they could stay in.

Most of the top 10 teams have been consistent throughout the season, and they appear to be on a higher level in an alleged down year of college basketball. Even Kansas belongs up there, despite questionable guard play and being nowhere near as good as previous Jayhawk teams that were never as highly ranked.

I threw Louisiana Tech in at No. 25, which is the spot where one of about a dozen teams seems worthy. You could make an argument for Ole Miss, N.C. State, Colorado State and others.

Here are some good games to watch this week:

No. 10 Ohio State at No. 3 Michigan, 8 p.m. Tuesday
No. 18 Minnesota at No. 12 Michigan State, 6 p.m. Wednesday
No. 23 Pittsburgh at No. 17 Cincinnati, 5 p.m. Saturday
No. 11 Louisville at No. 25 Notre Dame, 8 p.m. Saturday
No. 1 Indiana at No. 10 Ohio State, noon Sunday
