A Stoops brothers update

Bob: Recruiting his visor off, trying to get his team motivated to play his alma mater in the Insight Bowl, meeting the press for the first time since Bedlam, ignoring the Internet.

Mike: Waiting, like the rest of us, to see where he ends up coaching next.

We checked Ohio State off the list last week when Urban Meyer said Luke Fickel would be his play-calling defensive coordinator. But now Fickel has interviewed at Pitt. If he's crazy enough to work for Steve Pederson, maybe Meyer is smart enough to ask Stoops to name his price.

Old Stoops chums Kevin Sumlin and Kirk Ferentz are still in the market for D-coordinators as well. Maybe Mike lands in College Station or Iowa City.

Remember, for him to return to Norman, somebody on big brother's staff must first depart. Is that secondary coach Willie Martinez? Well…

Consider that Wagoner star Kevin Peterson verbally committed to OU over the weekend. He told our Kelly Hines that Martinez was "the main reason" he committed.

Mark: Offered the Auburn D-coordinator job, the littlest brother instead decided to stay on Jimbo Fisher's staff at Florida State, the Tallahassee Democrat reported.

Guess there's always the possibility Mike could War Eagle up and head to Auburn.
