A rested development

La Salle's road trip to Oklahoma City for the All-College Classic ended with some real road time.
The Explorers, who face Oklahoma State tonight, capped a long travel day Sunday by busing from Dallas/Fort Worth to Oklahoma City. Their trip was something like the movie "Planes, Trains and Automobiles."
LaSalle is located in Philadelphia, which got slushed by a 22-inch snowfall. Of course that wreaked havoc at the airport. Flights were canceled and delayed and, in truth, the Explorers were probably fortunate to explore their way to Oklahoma City.
Players and coaches managed to catch a flight to DFW. The plane landed just before midnight. Then came the bus ride and a pit stop for a very late dinner (tasty Whataburgers, according to a travel blog on goexplorers.com).
La Salle's traveling party didn't reach OKC until 3:45 a.m. Monday. You can bet that plenty of rest will be prescribed for the Explorers before they take the court against the Cowboys.
People ask me all the time if I enjoy the travel part of my job. I tell them travel would be great if not for the travel. Can I get an amen from La Salle?
