Alabama wins the national title...and other college talk
Published: 8/19/2011 7:45 PM

Alabama is going to win its second national championship in three years and run the Southeastern Conference's BCS title streak to six straight in New Orleans this coming January.

How do I know? Well, I've been lucky enough to see the advance copy of Sunday's Tulsa World college football preview section.

Our writers have been hard at work on the 20-page preview, which you can find in this Sunday's newspaper.

You'll find full previews of Tulsa, Oklahoma and Oklahoma State football, compelling stories about some of those programs' impact players and a look at why Oklahoma might be "the new state of college football."

And of course, there are fearless -- and sometimes foolish -- predictions. The good news for local fans -- our expert panel is unanimous that Oklahoma will win the Big 12 and feels strongly that Tulsa will win its division of Conference USA.

The bad news -- our group is nearly unanimous that Alabama, not Oklahoma, is the team to beat for the national title.

Obviously, our predictions are all in good fun. But our staff takes very seriously its work to produce a compelling and comprehensive preview section.

Please pick one up Sunday. We hope you'll enjoy it.

Now Michael, we had high hopes for you. OU will be Bama for the NC.
