And the Losers Are.....

Here is the worst of sports talk radio:
10. The one who mangles the language.
9. The one with the goofy nickname.
8. The one who can't stand OSU.
7. The one who looks down his nose at TU.
6. The one who loses in the ratings to the educational channel.
5. The one who doesn't really seem to care all that much for sports.
4. The one who couldn't pick the winner of the replay.
3. The loud one.
2. The one who thinks he is an authority on everything.
1. The one who wants to move in with the Stoops family.

Picker, doesn't Jim Traber aka "The Ultimate" fit into all 10 categories?
sctsports77 (4 years ago)
Only fitting that someone who hides behind a mask leaves those he considers failures behind their masks. Out with their names, OUT!!!

You just described yourself in half of those Licker! That's right, you know me. I had to take a break, your cheerleading for yourself was getting more than I could take. I'll be reading from here out though. Just so I have something to laugh at again. (formerly Cyco)

I've got an over/under of 3 blogs before we hear about the magical "20 of 21" rant again, Vern.

Which side are you taking?

OSUNDN and Tattoo: It's times like this when I am proud to have you two on the first team of responders. Vern, MexiMike, the only things they "get" are on TV Saturday morning.

The point of this exercise was: they're all alike on the radio, all loud, all know-it-alls, mostly homers, writers and preachers alike -- so many of those on sports talk radio all have similar boring characteristics.

Here's a radio note/scoop: Imus will be back on the radio in the Tulsa area later in this month, on the station that carries the local Cardinal baseball games.

I'm taking the over, football seasons still a little to far away.

Dear Clowns: Just so you'll know, nobody in the history of sports handicapping has hit 20 or 21 games against the point spread. Documented. Black and white.

Nobody in the Central Time Zone.

Nobody in Vegas.

Atlantic City.

Nobody in the world.

The galaxy, maybe.

Ask Vern, he's from out there.

AND THE #1 LOSER IS THE SOONER AND STOOPS HATER...THE PICKER!....Stoops and the Sooners have alot more fans!

Al Eschbach and Dean Blevins would cut off their testicles to snuggle up to Bob Stoops.

Al Jerkins and Pat Jones do a solid job.

I like Chris Plank, but he makes up too many words.

The real loser is Stan Van Gundy and his awful decision (or lack thereof) in the closing seconds of regulation last night's game 4. Every coach should take a class on the simple principle of what to do if you are up 3 with less than 10 seconds to go:

FOUL THE OTHER TEAM AND SEND THEM TO THE LINE FOR 2!!!

Van Gundy must have skipped that lesson because sure enough, Fisher hits the 3 that sends the game into OT and the Magic lose.

My prediction of the Lakers winning in 5 is looking pretty solid at this point.

The biggest losers are the ones who have to listen to Bob '5th down and 2 from the 57 yard line' Barry telling us what may or may not be happening on the field. A bit of a stretch re the category, but I'm on a mission !! Is anyone else bothered by "find's a big hole on the right side and battles across the 12 yard line for a one yard gain" ? Or how about "stopped short of the line of scrimmage but may have the first down"? Hello?

I think that most of the folks at the Sports Animal fit into those categories. The people who posted intelligent posts on here probably know more about sports than the worst of talk radio.

Out Pick The Picker

The Picker began entertaining – and infuriating – sports fans in 1993. Each week during football season, he writes about his picks of college and NFL games in his Thursday Sports column. He's never afraid of sharing his opinions about the game and the personalities who play it. Readers have a chance to go against him each season in the Outpick the Picker contest. He welcomes the competition.
