Another First Half to Remember

Just a week ago, Tulsa led UTEP, 49-28, at the half.
We didn't think we'd see anything like that for a while.
We were wrong.
Just seven days later, Oklahoma did the Golden Hurricane a few points better. The Sooners ran away from Kansas State for a 55-28 lead.
Unlike TU, Oklahoma did not step on the accelerator in the second half. The Sooners coasted home, scoring just three in the second half, of a 58-35 victory.
Both teams had more than 500 yards in offense (they combined for 1,078 yards and 46 first down).
It was a wild offensive show.
But, it was not out of the norm these days. Teams are running and passing for huge amount of yards and points every week.
College football has turned into a scoring fest.
On Saturday, Oklahoma made more big plays than Kansas State.
That's how you win games these days. Score points. Lots of them.

OU was incapable of scoring in the second half, do you think that Stoops thought at 58- 35 win would be "convincing"? TU won like a powerhouse, top echelon team should, scoring in the third quarter to salt the game away and let the reserves demonstrate their ability to move agains first team defenses and score themselves in the fourth quarter
