Anti-Stoops Nation

We were watching the one who looks like something from the children's zoo, maybe an opossum, Cowherd, that character, and he railed briefly about OU's below average recruiting class possibly signifying the start of the downfall of the Stoops regime.

That's the problem with sports talk on TV and radio. Hour after hour, day after day, time after time after time, they have to say something. If there's nothing obviously interesting going on, they invent conflict.

Little is less interesting than recruiting -- than grown adults hanging on the whims of kids and punks.

Recruiting has become a sideshow -- glory hungry brats pulling school hats from under a chair.

Sometimes top rated recruiting classes matter, sometimes they don't, how's that for an inexact science.

Plenty is wrong at OU. Rumors abound about long-time assistants being put on the firing block. Will Big Man Mangino return to wake up the line?

A change in the offense is even rumored. Going to some option junk would be the worst idea ever. Get a quarterback with a great arm and quick feet and you'll be all set.

Mike Stoops has some explaining to do. He was not hired to make excuses.

But the last thing we need is for some national blabbermouth looking for ratings in Texas.

Nothing can bring a program together faster than trash talking from national gloryhogs.
