Arizona Loses Again Opening Alamo

The Alamo Bowl has been up in the air because most figured it couldn't figure out which 10-2 team Big 12 team should face Arizona.
Arizona coach Mike Stoops made sure it wasn't a problem. Stoops led his Wildcats to their fourth straight loss on Thursday night.
The Cats lost to rival Arizona State, dropping Arizona to 7-5 and a Tucson newspaper is reporting the Wildcats will likely go to the Holiday Bowl.
Arizona will likely still play one of the Big 12's top teams but it opens the Alamo Bowl to take the loser of the Oklahoma-Nebraska Big 12 title game if it wishes.
Oklahoma had been balking at the Alamo because many believed Bob Stoops did not want to coach against his brother and Nebraska played Arizona last year in a bowl.
Not a problem now for the fading Wildcats, who dropped to 7-5 on the year with a losing record in the Pac-10.
Now, it is believed, Washington, if it beats Washington State, will go to the Alamo Bowl.
And, either Oklahoma State or Missouri will likely go to San Diego to face the slumping Wildcats.
The Cowboys or Tigers will also likely fill a slot in the Insight Bowl in Tempe, Ariz.
Arizona State at 6-6 is appealing to have two victories over non-FBS teams counted toward bowl eligibility.

Those sound like some great games. :P

truly sad for OSU if the best they can get is a dreg AZ team. They deserve better.

Absolutely right Ignatz, and the I'm sure OSU would destroy that bunch from Arizona.

OSU needs a cupcake to play in their bowl matchup so they can feel good about the season and end it on a winning note. Those kids worked hard all year and deserve to have a fun time wherever they end up.
