Question: Has the Thunder killed OU basketball?

Answer: It is 40 percent responsible for the arena looking like an art history class most game nights. Terrible play is responsible for 60 percent of the abandonment. The days of supporting bad teams are long gone. If you had a hundred bucks to spend on hoops, who would you rather see, Wade and James or what's his name from Texas A&M?

Still and all, OU obliterated ORU.

Losing too much has also created all the empty seats at OSU and TU games.

That the TU coach has won lots of games without ever going to the NCAA tournament suggests few fans care much anymore. While ORU is scrambling for respect, TU is trying to invent some, trying to make it sound like missing the NCAA tournament is exactly what it set out to do.

Regarding ORU, has it gotten better since OU mauled it, or has it simply been playing some really terrible teams?

Most times, overnight improvement is a fan allegation.

A hundred bucks to see Wade & James live in OKC ????

You really are out of touch aren't you.... Nosebleed endline behind a pillar seats will be $150 minimum....

Coach InCapable & the his Mickey-d trio sucked more life out of OU hoops more than the Thunder ever could....

TU is hopeless with Dubya running the show....

Okie St., what's their excuse ???? Lame coaching & recruiting is what I see, then again I don't see them, so in reality it's, my guess is....

ORU did get smoked by the Sooners but at least they have a realistic shot at the Big Dance & hopefully they will prove themselves there even though they will probably open up against Duke, NC, Kentucky, Syracuse or Michigan St....

Red, you can get Upper level behind the basket seats for Thunder games for $10 if you shop in advance. The NBA requires it. Most games are sold out, so your friendly local scalper may not price tickets as low.

Red, they must love to see you coming.

As JS said, upper corner seats are available for peanuts.

Matter of fact, I have some.

Peanuts ????

Thunder seats are cheap, stubhub, 3 or 4 hours before tip off unless it's the Lakers or Heat. Even those games, $100 gets you in the door.

LOL - sorry, not taking the bait this time. But, nice try nonetheless! Unlike the poor, old souls skulking on the sidelines, taking potshots at that which they simply can not (or will not) appreciate, I am THOROUGHLY enjoying this record-breaking year and the great games that lie ahead in the postseason. GO GOLDEN EAGLES!

Go Hurricane win the conference tournament!

Anyone remember Nolan's pep rally in downtown Tulsa when TU won the NIT? I'm afraid it's true...TU suffers, in both basketball and football, to LEE (Low Expectations Syndrome). They won't achieve if they don't aspire. And I find myself in the distasteful position of sort of agreeing with that red river reprobate...The Thunder didn't kill OU basketball...I'd give a little of the credit to Capel and more of it to Sampson. The Thunder are presently busy putting the final nail in the coffin (although I think Kruger will bring 'em back if given enough talent and time.

The problem with OU Basketball? They're not winning. When a team is 4-11 in conference play and the Thunder are very good, fans won't support OU basketball very much. Coach InCapable ruined the program, and now Coach Kruger has to rebuild it.

If ORU were in the Big 12 conference, they'd finish 10th (ahead of Tech) out of 11 teams. They do play an easy conference schedule. When ORU officially joins the Southland Conference, the schedule will get a bit tougher.
