Basketball coaches aren't paying attention

College football and basketball polls, because they are opinion-based, are never going to make sense. If you expect them to make sense, you are asking way too much
Want to know which poll makes the least sense? Coaches polls. It's obvious they are too busy doing their real jobs to make a credible attempt at being a pollster.
Here's exhibit A: In the latest USA Today basketball coaches poll, Oklahoma State, Tulsa and Missouri State are among non-top 25 teams who are receiving votes.
Missouri State beat Tulsa, which beat Oklahoma State. Since a food chain has been established, logic says Missouri State should be ranked ahead of Tulsa and TU should be ranked ahead of OSU.
Instead, coaches gave OSU the most votes, followed in order by Tulsa and then Missouri State.
It's like they filled out their ballots upside down. Or maybe they just aren't paying attention.

OSU did lose to Tulsa, but they are 10-1 and right now are playing the best basketball of anyone in the state...although ORU is making an argument with big wins the last couple of weeks. But right now, the doubters can talk all they want. Once conference play starts, that is where the rankings will become more important and should be more accurate.
