While researching last year's game at Baylor, I was reminded of some interesting tidbits while watching the game on DVR. The Sooners had their share of heroes, big plays and gaffes in a 36-10 win at Floyd Casey Stadium.
* Alonzo Dotson had two hard sacks, one in the end zone for a safety. (Departed C.J. Ah You also had a pair of sacks).
* Juaquin Iglesias scored an 88-yard touchdown returning the free kick following Dotson's safety.
* Chris Brown rushed for 169 yards and a touchdown in his second career start, but lost a fourth-quarter fumble that BU's Braelon Davis returned 56 yards for a fumble.
* Reggie Smith broke up three passes and had two interceptions, returning one 42 yards for a score and setting up a short TD with another big return, but dropped a first-quarter punt that led to a Baylor field goal, then dropped a third-quarter punt, picked it up and fumbled it back to the Bears.
* Malcolm Kelly went high for an impressive catch from Paul Thompson on the sideline late in the first quarter, but as he sprinted down the field for a 58-yard gain, he dropped the football while warding off a Baylor defender. He finished with 115 yards and a touchdown on five catches, but should have had another TD.
The Sooners are a better football team and are 16-0 against Baylor all-time, but taking the Bears lightly and being careless with the football on Saturday in Norman could add to the amazing list of 2007 upsets.
