Bears coach: Dvoracek deserves another chance, but not in Chicago

INDIANAPOLIS — Chicago head coach Lovie Smith on Friday talked glowingly about former Sooner wideout Juaquin Iglesias (he played in one game last year but had many great moments in practice against the Bears' starting defense, Smith said) and ex-OU defensive tackle Tommie Harris (he has had a recent run of injuries but Smith said he should be expected to return as dominant as ever).

Then he was asked about Dusty Dvoracek, the former Sooner and former Bear d-tackle who sustained his third ACL injury last summer, then was arrested in Norman this winter for another drunken fight. Dvoracek has said he was told the Bears want to give him a second chance, but that was before his arrest.

"He deserves another chance," Smith said Friday. "Dusty has made a couple bad decision. But, great guy. I hope he gets another chance. We'll just kind of let it play out."

Is he part of Chicago's future plans?

"Right now," Smith said, "he's not."

At this point.. To bad..so sad..Dusty.
He has no one to blame but himself for his arrest record and drinking issues.
