The latest sign that the college football season really, really, really, really needs to start soon...
Oklahoma wide receiver Kenny Stills engaged in Twitter conversation Tuesday night with former LSU defensive back Patrick Peterson, and it actually made headlines.
Seems Peterson encouraged folks to follow Oklahoma State's Justin Blackmon. Peterson called Blackmon "the best WR in the College Football this year and last year."
Stills responded by sticking up for teammate Ryan Broyles, and by critiquing Blackmon. He tweeted, according to NewsOK.com: "(Blackmon) is all about big bodying people and sloppy routes. (Broyles) gets open by finding spaces. Based off of routes, knowledge of the game and the caliber of his fellow receivers, I'd go @RyanBroyles."
There was no evidence of those tweets on Stills' Twitter page by Wednesday morning. Stills did tweet: "Apologies to @JustBlack81. Wasn't knocking the Biletnikoff winner at all. He makes huge plays and dominates the game."
Blackmon's Twitter page was silent on the issue. Although he did tweet Monday: "Stupid hot outside."
Stills' most recent tweets have also touched on Chipotle, Ecclesiastes 12:1 and the movie "Superbad."
You know, just in case you're keeping a file on all of this and other things of global consequence.
