They should change the name of the Byron Nelson Invitational to the Kelsey Grammar Invitational. Here's why: Frazar has left the building.
Harrison Frazar was one of two pros (J.J. Henry was the other) who helped oversee a facelift of the course where the Byron Nelson is played.
In the first Byron Nelson since the renovation, Frazar failed to make the cut.
If I'm tweaking a golf course, I'm going to tweak it to be good to me (lots of short, straight holes with no sand, no trees and no water). Obviously, Frazar didn't set it up to help himself, which means he succeeded at being professional and failed at being selfish.
Nice guys don't always finish last. But sometimes they don't get to finish.

Tulsa World sports writer Jimmie Tramel is a former class president at Locust Grove High School. He graduated magna cum laude from Northeastern State University with a journalism degree and, while attending college, was sports editor of the Pryor Daily Times. He joined the Tulsa World on Oct. 17, 1989, the same day an earthquake struck the World Series. He is the OSU basketball beat writer and a columnist and feature writer during football season. In 2007, he wrote a book about Oklahoma State football with former Cowboy coach Pat Jones.
