Biffle Defends Home Field (Lake) Advantage

Wagoner's Tommy Biffle figured to have home field advantage at the Bassmaster Elite Series Sooners Run on Fort Gibson Lake.
Biffle, one of the most consistent anglers in the Bassmaster Elite Series, proved his hometown knowledge of Fort Gibson Lake to be huge.
Biffle won the Sooner Run on Sunday, pulling in a four-day total of 73-11 to win the event.
Not only was the tournament a victory for Biffle. It was also a victory for northeastern Oklahoma.
Even though the tournament had to be moved from the Arkansas River just two days before the start on Thursday, it proved to be a big hit with fishermen and fans.
The Sooner Run has proven to be popular in northeastern Oklahoma, having enjoyed a good two-year run on Grand Lake in 2006 and 2007.

my husband and I drove down to Muskogee for the weekend to go to the tournament. The people there were great, the setup was fantastic with tents and displays, a crawfish boil, some great music and it was all free to the public. The local paper quoted many of the pro fishermen as saying the Oklahoma crowds were the best mannered and friendliest of anyplace they tour, so we hope they continue to come back!
