Big 12 Power Rankings: Week 3
Published: 9/19/2011 6:48 PM
Last Modified: 9/19/2011 6:48 PM

All my funny was sapped by the late Oklahoma State-Tulsa game, followed by an early plane flight Sunday.

This is all I've got.

1. Oklahoma
After Saturday night, national writers see a tougher OU team than in recent years. Can Sooners avoid a letdown against Missouri?

2. Texas A&M
After watching OSU-Tulsa and A&M-SMU, my prediction for Aggies-Cowboys: first team to 70 wins.

3. Oklahoma State
Midnight Madness in Tulsa not exactly the best preparation for the league opener.

4. Baylor
One more week of light lifting before an important road Big 12 opener.

5. Texas
Longhorns first three opponents are a combined 3-5. But new QB starter Case McCoy seems to have the "it" factor.

6. Iowa State
Cyclones have three wins by a combined eight points. The real thing or not? We'll find out in two weeks against Texas.

7. Missouri
Coming off a win over Western Illinois, Tigers get shock when they realize this week's opponent is Oklahoma, not Central Oklahoma.

8. Texas Tech
Nevada a slight step up in competition... but not much.

9. Kansas State
Trip to Miami will say a lot about Wildcats.

10. Kansas
Unfortunately, Georgia Tech didn't forget last year's upset against the Jayhawks.
