Big 12 Power Rankings: Week 7
Published: 10/18/2011 5:33 PM

It looks like only Kansas State stands in the way of a BCS semifinal game at Bedlam.

1. Oklahoma
Kickoff coverage problems, red zone woes. The Sooners will be lucky to beat Texas Tech... by more than five touchdowns.

2. Oklahoma State
Win on consecutive weeks against Missouri, Baylor and Kansas State, and Cowboys belong in the same sentence with LSU, Alabama and Oklahoma.

3. Kansas State
Forgive me for forgetting that Bill Snyder is a really good football coach.

4. Texas A&M
Aggies are a serious Cotton Bowl contender. Twenty-five years ago that was a good thing. These days, not as much.

5. Missouri
Some claim the Tigers are the best three-loss team in the country. I prefer what Bill Parcells says, "You are what your record says you are." In the Tigers' case, .500.

6. Baylor
Bears coach Art Briles got so mad during his post-game press conference last weekend you would have thought someone asked about his team's defense.

7. Texas
The Longhorns have a bye this week before facing Kansas on the Longhorn Network. That makes two weeks in a row you won't be able to watch Texas on television.

8. Texas Tech
I love Tommy Tuberville, but he's not doing anything to help Red Raider fans forget Mike Leach.

9. Iowa State
Repeat after me: the losing streak could reach five before Kansas comes around to offer relief.

10. Kansas
After a respectable showing against Oklahoma, is halting in-state rival's miracle season enough motivation this week?
